Taxonomic classification

Unique sequence IDs, excluding the four query rows.

Aligned region length distribution

Length is calculated from reported alignment start and end coordinates.

Top taxonomic groups

Select a lineage depth from the end of each NCBI lineage.

Alignment-set sizes

Taxonomy cladogram

Rectangular cladogram constructed from NCBI lineage labels. Branch lengths show taxonomy depth, not evolutionary distance.

Runtime protein alignment

Reference-guided multiple alignment using real NCBI protein FASTA sequences cached with this project.

Runtime alignment is limited to 50 proteins. It uses global pairwise alignment against the selected reference and merges reference-coordinate gaps into a common alignment.

What this page supports

Accession and organism search, mammal/non-mammal classification, NCBI lineage browsing, reported alignment-length summaries, alignment-set membership, overlap analysis, and zoomable rendered alignments.

Current limitation

Protein FASTA sequences for all 4,120 accessions are now cached from NCBI. The runtime tool provides reference-guided alignments, consensus, and identity. A statistically inferred phylogram with evolutionary branch lengths still requires a dedicated workflow such as MAFFT plus IQ-TREE or a comparable model-based method.
